Simon was permitted an audience with Alexander Kravarov - Mayor of the Municipality of Bansko and it makes for interesting reading in terms of the future investment and commitment to Bansko; which will have a knock on to all of us who own property there. When asked about why Bansko is different to other resorts, Mr Kravarov replied: "Our development is different from Pamporovo and Borovets. They are just resorts and the nearby towns (Borovets - Samokov. Pamporovo - Chepalare and Smolyan) gain nearly nothing from the ski resorts on their doorsteps whilst Bansko is a real town [with a 10,000 permanent population] and on the whole, if you go to a Mehanas or cafe you are served by a citizen of Bansko which benefits Bansko".
